Isn't the Turkish-origin framework your situation?

This page is for Turkish-origin foreign nationals within the Law No. 2527 framework. If your situation is different, go to the right page.

Starting Situation

Where are you in the Turkish-Origin Certificate process?

In this framework, everything begins with documenting the ancestral tie — either way, the first step is the same initial consultation.

In both situations the application is carried out on your behalf under a power of attorney.

First stepScope assessment

I'm of Turkish origin and want to obtain the certificate

Your ancestral tie exists but has not yet become an official document

  • Scope assessment
  • Your community and ancestry background are reviewed
  • Scope is not a general list — it is determined by an official decision
  • The certificate file is set up and the application is made under a power of attorney

First stepCertificate check

I have the certificate but don't know what it does for me

Your ancestral tie is documented; now it's about what doors the certificate opens

  • Certificate check
  • The certificate's validity and scope are checked
  • The work and profession side is assessed together
  • Next steps (residence, citizenship) are planned

Why an assessment

In this framework scope is not a general list; which Turkish-origin communities fall within scope is determined by official decision. Stating "I am of Turkish origin" is not the same as having the file officially assessed — that's why scope is clarified during the initial consultation.

We determine together, during the initial consultation, which situation applies to you — the timeline is built accordingly.

A Turkish-Origin Certificate does not come automatically: scope is determined by an official decision, and the file needs to make the ancestral tie clear — the real task is obtaining the certificate.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions

The questions on your mind

What is a Turkish-Origin Certificate, and what is it for?

It is the document that officially documents your ancestral tie; it is the basis for the rights within the framework of Law No. 2527.

  • What it provesIt establishes that you are of Turkish origin through official records, not a mere statement.
  • What it opensFor this framework to apply on the work, professional-practice and residence side, the ancestral tie is expected to be documented.

Once I have the certificate, do I need a work permit?

This is where this framework's real value lies: Turkish-origin foreign nationals within the scope of Law No. 2527 are given the ability to work without a separate work permit requirement.

  • What it means in practiceThe application-and-renewal cycle that runs through an employer under the standard work permit process does not apply the same way here — that's why the real issue is obtaining the certificate.
  • Are there limitsScope and how specific professions or activities are assessed varies by person and file; we clarify the details together during the initial consultation.

Who is considered Turkish origin?

Scope is not a general list — which Turkish-origin communities fall within scope is determined by official decision.

  • Known communitiesAhıska, Western Thrace, Iraqi and Syrian Turkmens, and Balkan and Central Asian Turkic communities are the groups most often discussed.
  • Case by caseWhether your own situation falls within scope depends on your ancestry background; we assess it together during the initial consultation.

How does the certificate process work?

The order is clear: scope assessment → file setup → application → follow-up. Most of the time is spent on the first two steps.

  • Why the file is criticalAncestral tie is established through records that support one another; scattered documents are the most common cause of delay.
  • We handle follow-upAfter the application, we respond to any requests for missing documents from the authority; we keep you informed at every step.

Which documents are required?

The core categories are ancestry records, identity and residence status; the exact list varies by situation.

  • Core categoriesRecords showing the ancestral tie, identity and passport documents, and your residence status in Türkiye.
  • Full list during the consultationHow each document is proven varies by person and community; we work out the list together based on your file.

Does the Turkish-Origin Certificate lead to citizenship?

Not directly; but the typical path is: certificate first, then a residence permit, the 5-year period generally discussed on the standard route of lawful residence, and then a separate citizenship application.

  • OrderAfter the certificate is obtained, the residence permit side is set up; the standard route discusses 5 years of uninterrupted lawful residence, and citizenship is assessed as a separate application.
  • Where to look nextIf your goal is citizenship, see our citizenship page; we discuss together where you stand during the initial consultation.

Who makes the application, and how long does the process take?

The application is made on your behalf by us, under a power of attorney; what determines the timeline is how complete the file is.

  • PreparationScope assessment and document gathering take roughly 2–4 weeks; most time is lost here.
  • AssessmentThe authority's assessment varies by file and by how busy the period is; a request for missing documents extends the timeline.

How much does it cost, and do you guarantee a result?

There are two separate items: the official government charges paid to the state, and the consultancy fee. No one can guarantee a result.

  • The official sideCharges are updated every year and paid to the state; they are not included in the consultancy fee.
  • An honest frameworkThe decision is made by the state authority; there is no guarantee of a result. Our job is to build the file correctly and follow the process completely.
